This lovely old blue barn is on a farm not far from my home. I've painted it two or three times, but always from a distance because the structure sits in the middle of its acreage, and the only decent vantage I have is from a public road. While driving by one day in February 2002, I noticed that I could see the building clearly from a previously unavailable viewpoint because it was winter, and there was no foliage. Fortunately we had a day or two of relatively warm weather, so I was able to capture the barn from a new and closer vantage.
