This
is not the painting that I alluded to in my July
1st 2002 journal entry -- the one I traded for a weekend's stay
at the Chestnut Hill Inn
-- but it is the one I began that weekend, standing under the
trees at the top of an embankment in Milford, New Jersey, on a hot day
in June of 2002, looking across the Delaware at Pennsylvania.
I
executed two versions of this view, actually -- the other one is less
wide than this, and the light key was slightly different.
It
took about six hours to complete this painting, all told, in three sessions.
