Oil painting - "Holicong Road," February 2004

Prallsville Mill

9" x 7"

It is possible to paint outside in the winter, of course, but this winter scene was done inside my car. It was a fairly cramped situation, though, so next winter I will take the time to think out my methodology a little more carefully before I begin. It's a question of needing to have all the tools of the trade -- brushes, paint, turpentine, palette -- all within easy reach inside the car; and also, not wanting to get paint on the upholstery. Fortunately this was a fairly small painting, which made it a little easier to execute.
