This
was painted plein air at Washington's Crossing State Park in New
Jersey. Although I had been using a palette knife almost exclusively for
the first year I was painting, I did most of the first color notes on
this work using a brush. Most of the final work was done with a knife,
although I did go in and do some details (window sills and the porch posts
to the right) with a small brush. This painting was later bought by a
private collector.
